This is planned, but something we would consider "very far off into the future"
There's several reasons for this:
* We don't have "sensitive content" toggles yet (already on our list) which enables users to disclose that they post NSFW content, and the counterpart of users consenting to seeing such content on their feed
* While our moderation tooling exists, it's somewhat lacking, and letting people loose with uploading pictures will make moderation magnitudes worse than just having to handle text content
* Staffing. Retrospring is 3 people at the moment, and the currently well-behaving userbase is something we can handle moderation-wise. As soon as people are able to upload images, they will upload nasty stuff and we need to be prepared for that. (before we get more people in the team, the tooling needs to improve however)
* Storage is also going to be interesting. At the moment we only save headers and profile pictures, and the bill for those is relatively small, image posts might increase that by quite a bit, and we probably need to explore funding options beforehand (no ads, nor premium stuff, we most likely will just take optional donations)
So, while it seems like a relatively simple feature on the outside, there's a bunch of things to look out for before jumping head-first into this
